What is expected of APOs?
APOs provide a range of additional support to AYAD assignments including:
- Assisting Host Organisations (HOs) to develop assignment proposals
- Assisting HOs to source candidates by nominating young Australians from their own networks, for example a student, volunteer or staff member, to undertake an assignment
- Providing an assignment specific pre-departure briefing for the AYAD
- Acting in a mentoring role to support the AYAD whilst on assignment, by engaging in regular email contact and providing advice and assistance with negotiating any issues
- Providing an assignment specific debrief on the AYAD’s return
- Providing additional resources to support the achievement of assignment outcomes (optional)
