Sourcing candidates
As an Australian Partner Organisation (APO) you can choose to either nominate a candidate for an assignment or request that the Program sources a candidate for you. If you nominate a candidate this person will be the only person applying for that assignment, however they will still need to fulfil the requirements of the AYAD Program selection process.
Nominated candidates can be staff members, students, consultants or members of the general public – they do not need a formal relationship with the APO or HO in order to be nominated for an assignment.
The Program strongly encourages APOs to nominate candidates to ensure a good skills/experience match for assignments, provide APOs with greater input into the selection process and guarantee the sourcing of a potential applicant.
The Program recommends nominating candidates for assignments in the following fields:
- Information Technology
- Agriculture, Aquaculture and Rural Development
- Financial Management
- Medical (doctor or nurse)
- Trades
- Highly skilled or technical positions
In order to streamline the selection process we recommend that you incorporate the AYAD Program candidate application form into your internal selection process. The candidate application form and an exemplar application are available on the AYAD website.
If you request that the Program source a candidate for you, the assignment will be available on the AYAD website for approximately 5 weeks and open to the general public. We request that you also promote these assignments through your own networks.
