Based in Phnom Penh for the next twelve months Raashi will be working with the Radio National Kampuchea (RNK) and Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC) International Projects as a Finance Officer.In conjunction with Cambodia Radio Development Assistance Project (CRDAP) and Australian Broadcasting Commission International Projects, the aim of RNK is to promote good governance and community participation in a democratic Cambodia.
Her role will be to develop the capacity of RNK management and staff in key areas essential to their long term viability and sustainability. Raashi will work with and train local counterparts to better enable the organisation to implement viable financial management systems and to enhance transparency, accountability and the long term funding and operational structure.
Raashi completed a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Asian Studies majoring in Accounting, Indonesian and Strategic Security Analysis at the Australian National University. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant and for the last three and a half years has been working in public and private sector accounting with a large accountancy firm.
She believes that this assignment will provide an excellent opportunity to challenge herself in an environment where she has the opportunity to use her skills and experience to assist in building community capacity to promote transparency, good governance and accountability. Raashi is also looking forward to spending a year in Cambodia and immersing herself in the rich Khmer culture.
